  • This is great basic card with very simple fees. There are no monthly or activation fees. The card only works where American Express is accepted and not all merchants accept American Express so make sure that works for you.
  • Cash reloads at locations such as 7-Eleven and Office Depot using the Vanilla Reload Network ($3.95) or use MoneyPak ($4.95).
  • There is one free ATM withdrawal a month (the ATM owner will still charge you a fee but AMEX won't).
  • There is no bill pay with this card so if you need bill pay it's better to get another card.
  • Live customer service is free.
